Responsibility Award 2022

Purchased demining equipment: results of #DemineToSaveLives initiative

In 2022, the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation dedicates the “Responsibility Award” to all Ukrainians! We have donated the funds of the award for demining to thank our compatriots for their resilience, responsibility, and daily work for victory! In this article, we will tell what equipment has been purchased with the collected funds and to whom the equipment has been transferred.

As part of the Responsibility Award 2022, the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation launched the #DemineToSaveLives initiative. We have handed over the prize for the demining of Ukrainian territories, so that life will return to every corner of Ukraine, and people will be able to restore their homes, favorite cafes, museums, and to learn, dream, act in safety.

As a result, we have managed to collect 1,363,000 UAH together with funds from the Foundation, partnership income, and personal donations from Ukrainian men and women. The final amount of the collection was announced on October 19, on Human Responsibility Day, at an offline event in Lviv. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to filling the prize basket. Special thanks to our foreign donors — Ian Lundin, Peje Emilsson, Asbjorn and Elin Larssen, Sophia Shane, as well as graduates of the foundation’s programs who transferred their received scholarships within the framework of the “Young Generation will Change Ukraine” program for demining — Olha Oshetsa, Marharyta Lubkova, Andrij Romanov.

We are pleased to announce that we have already managed to purchase:

🟢 (4) four Garret RECON-PRO AML 750 minesweepers

🟢 (2) two DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo quadcopters

🟢 (10) ten Motorola DP 1400 digital radios

All equipment has been handed over to the Association of Sappers of Ukraine, an organization that has been working professionally in the field of humanitarian demining since 2018. “This is a disease that kills people, cripples their lives, and also affects the social and economic development of our country. Before February 24, Ukraine was in the TOP-5 countries in the world with mine problems. Now, unfortunately, we can state that Ukraine’s place is definitely the first…” — executive director of the NGO “Association of sappers of Ukraine” Tymur Pistryuha says.

The #розміновуй_життя initiative was born within the framework of the “Responsibility Award 2022” award, and we continue it as a separate project. The collection of funds for demining Ukrainian territories continues.
